Volunteer With Foster Care Angels

Without our volunteers Foster Care Angels simply could not exist.

We receive no government funding and without volunteers to help us with fundraising we simply cannot continue to provide our unique and much needed services.  If you would like to join our fundraising team or hold a fundraising event on our behalf please get in touch.

We're busy finding the gaps in the foster care system and need some help!  We have an ongoing, very part time position of Club Grants Manager.  Foster Care Angels are a local grass roots charity located in the Hills supporting children and young adults in foster care and their carers.

A very important part of the funding we receive is from Club Grants and we need to apply for them every year.  Over the years we've set up templates to make the process easy but it can be very time consuming and we need someone to take it over and really own the role.

Here's what you need to know:

The role is submitting Club Grant applications via the online application process.  This involved reviewing and updating our templates, completing the online application, working to the Clubs deadlines, reviewing the applications for accuracy - doing a bit of a commonsense check, editing for spelling and grammatical errors.

This part of the process usually starts in February each year and would require 2 or 3 days per week for 2 to 3 months.

Then you'll need to make yourself available for the successful Club Grant Presentation ceremonies which are usually held in July/August and there might be 20 events which could be anywhere in Sydney.  These are usually catered events such as a morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea and occasionally an evening function.

At the event you'll receive the grant, present the Certificate of Appreciation and have a photo taken for the use of FCA social media.

Sounds easy?  Fun?  Yes, we think so.

Here's you:

Computer literate

Flexible and easy going (we are and we like to work with other nice people)

Professional and will represent us well

Well presented (well not every day but when you're out and about)

High English literacy skills

Committed to the position each year - it's an easy role for the right person but it'll take us time to induct and train you - please come back each year.

Ideally you can commit to this position every year.  You might be newly retired and happy to give back to the community.
